Frequently Asked Questions

How do I use the app? Type a yes-or-no question in the input box, then shake your phone gently — a real shake, like you’re trying to wake it up. Within a second or two, the oracle responds with a cryptic poetic answer.

Does Pocket Oracle store my questions? Your past questions and answers are stored only on your device, locally. They never leave your phone except when you ask a new question — which is sent to a proxy server, processed by AI, and immediately forgotten on the server side.

Is Pocket Oracle free? Yes. Pocket Oracle is free forever. No ads. No subscriptions. No in-app purchases.

How do I view my past oracles? Tap “past” in the top-right corner of the main screen. A list of your last 30 questions and answers appears, newest first.

How do I delete my history? Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all stored data. There is no server-side history to delete because nothing is stored server-side.

The oracle isn’t responding when I shake my phone. Make sure you’re shaking firmly — a real shake, not just a wiggle or tilt. The oracle also has a brief cooldown (~1.5 seconds) between shakes to prevent accidental triggers.

The answer I received made no sense. That’s the oracle. Sometimes the answer is exactly what you needed to hear. Sometimes it makes no sense until tomorrow morning. That’s the point.
